Greece has definitely become one of my favorite destinations and I have no doubt that I’ll be returning in the near future. I was already expecting a beautiful and scenic country with a unique culture, but I was not expecting to have one of the best culinary experiences I have ever had abroad. For someone that loves food, this was the most pleasant surprise of my visit. Aside from the beautiful wonders the country has to offer, such as Acropolis & Mount Lycabettus, I believe that authentic Greek cuisine is HIGHLY underrated. So, while highlighting a few of my eating adventures in Athens, I give the Athens culinary experience a full 5 stars.
Christmas is almost here! And I couldn’t think of a better time to reflect on holiday season in Ireland. While this was one of my shorter visits, it definitely was one of the most memorable. In mid-November, I had already been living abroad for over 3 months and I never fully rid myself of homesickness. But, after meeting up with one of my closest friends to explore Dublin, Ireland & Belfast, Northern Ireland (UK), I almost felt like I was at home. Both Ireland and Northern Ireland have such a home-like feel…after only a few days visiting the region, I even considered planning an extended stay and pursuing admission into the extremely competitive Trinity College in Dublin.
One of the most beautiful settings I have ever set foot in was the house & gardens of famous French artist Claude Monet. While I didn’t know too much about his art or impressionism before visiting, it was still extremely captivating. His legacy is beautifully preserved in a remote location in Normandy between Vernon and Gasny. If ever you have the chance to visit this northern region of France – you must see this hidden treasure.
Unfortunately, we weren’t able to take pictures inside of his home, but I still tried to capture as much of the grounds as possible.
Strolling around ‘le jardin’ it’s like stepping right into one of Monet’s paintings
Just over a year ago, I set off on a life changing adventure to study for four months in Rouen, France. Now, (mostly) everyone I know describes their study abroad experience as “life-changing”. So, it gets old I know! But, it reassured my passions for international affairs, traveling, and, most relevant, cuisine. When visiting Rouen, France (just a little over an hour outside of Paris), you’ll notice a number of little treasures that stand out from the rest of the city.
