JUSTE
48 rue Laffitte, 75009, Paris, France
Perfect for Lowkey Vibes and Seafood Lovers
Situated on the corner of a street in quaint area of the 9th arrondissement. Half marché, half seafood spot. Perfect for a chill dinner in a more quiet space. And most likely the best customer service in all of France.
Juste is quite possibly the most affordable seafood spot you will find in Paris. I know this because I double checked by going twice in one week. The menu is very simple and the poisson du jour changes and is usually served with potatoes in a light buttery cream. The crab claws (pinces de tourteau) are served with mayonnaise and bread for creating a crab tartine. The half lobster seemed to be a very popular choice, but I opted for the lieu noir avec des pommes de terre, or saithe with potatoes. Juste is known for their mussels, so you can’t go wrong there. I recommend adding a side dish. Both times I visited, there was a choice of a chickpea salad (chickpeas mixed with cucumber, papaya, turnip, salicorne, and scallions), black ink fusilli pasta, or the vegetable of the week.
LE MECHOUI DU PRINCE
36 Rue Monsieur le Prince
Perfect for When (If) You Need a Break from French Food
This little gem is situated on Rue Monsieur le Prince in Saint Michel—near the Latin Quarter and around the corner from the Luxembourg Gardens. Try le Casbah, a lamb tangine topped with dried apricots, almonds, raisins, honey, and cinnamon. The salty / sweet combination is very popular in le Maroc and a favorite flavor of mine. This dish alone caused me to move Marrakech a bit higher up my travel bucket list.
The couscous is also very good. In the US, we refer to the grain as couscous. But, in Morocco, couscous is the entire dish. Here it was served with lamb and vegetables in a savory broth, as well as harissa and raisins. The semoule was served in an oblong pot on the side. Traditionally, semoule is eaten in a large pot from which everyone eats.
If you have any room left after this Moroccan feast, I recommend trying these little North African desserts served with Moroccan mint tea or a cocktail.
LE PETIT CAMBODGE

Perfect for Lovers of Fusion Cuisine
Cambodian-French fusion is at its best at Le Petit Cambodge, located in 10th arrondissement. Definitely a spot for a millennial crowd looking for a dinner spot before a night out.
